Anwar holds a master’s degree in electrical Power Engineering from Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). 

He has 16 years professional experience in dealing with complex macro-issues that threaten company profitability and longevity. As the Managing Director in MAFA Group, he is part of the team that conceived the idea of the group and nurtured the idea into a reality. 

Anwar has managed diverse multi-racial and multi-generational teams to deliver high impact projects including various public and private universities, a centre for disease control in Kano state financed by Pfizer, electricity transmission expansion projects in Eko Atlantic city, Victoria Island and Ikoyi as well as North-western Nigeria.
